It was never my intent to make an all-inclusive film about this obsession. I couldn't possibly do that! I'm a filmmaker, not a doctor. Rather, "Whole" is meant to spark a dialogue about identity, psychiatry, individual rights, the Hippocratic oath, beauty and acceptance. And in the end, I see "Whole" as a movie about secrets and families and what secrets do to relationships. It's just that in the case of amputee wannabes, the secret is more dramatic than most people could ever imagine.
